Wymeswold CC Match Reports – Saturday 20th July

Scoble wins it for Wymeswold

Luke Scoble hit an unbeaten 94 to steer his Wymeswold side to a third consecutive win in Division D of the South Notts Cricket League, this time at home to Farndon.

After winning the toss Wold skipper Rob Pitman asked the visitors to bat first in tricky conditions due to rain, and would have been pleased as Harry Scoble (3 for 37) and Jack Shelton (3 for 44) restricted Farndon to 166 for 9 in 36 overs.

In reply Pitman himself made 12, but fellow opener Luke Scoble dominated, hitting 11 fours and 2 sixes in an unbeaten 104-run partnership with Dan Barry, who ended on 37 not out. The pair saw Wymeswold home for the loss of just three wickets in the 30th over.

Meanwhile in Division L of the league Wymeswold’s second team game at Midlands CC was abandoned after 11 overs due to heavy rain.
